Well, as many of you found out at the Lamb of God community meeting, the Rhodes’ are going to Belfast. Hold on this is not a over night kinda thing, so you can wipe away the tears you have welling up in your eyes. This is going to be a long haul, full of hard work, lot’s of planning, nothing less than a miracle amount of support, and most importantly FAITH kinda thing!! For those of you who either don’t know us or our heart for Belfast, let me briefly fill you in on how we decided to take the step to being missionaries to Belfast. For the Past Nine years Belfast has been a part of our families life.(read the Bio page for all the details) As a full time youth pastor in New Jersey my passion for Belfast manifested itself in a couple of different ways. We lead two mission trips, sent two interns (one who married a Northern Irish Lass), and had Jonathan & Sharon Caldwell speak at youth events state side. While this was the extent of our connection to Belfast for the past six years in Lamb of God, God was stirring in the heart of my wife and I for something new. About three months ago we were asking ourselves what is God up to? Separately we began to pray and when we came together we both knew it was time. God had given us the green light to begin the journey to Belfast. We spent the next couple of months praying and talking to our leadership. As we shared our heart with leadership and friends we were only more certain that God was in the middle of this decision. So here we are in the midst of the biggest decision our family has ever made, and to be honest I’m a little nervous. I know that God is big enough. I’m just worried that my faith isn’t. What I am asking as I close this entry is… Will you pray for us as we journey on? We believe that God answers prayer, so the more the merrier!
Thanks For Listening,
